Thanks for that. Presumably it is back into 3 aswell? I seem to remember platform 4 to/from the connection being done on the evening run at some stage last year, maybe that is just my memory going.

I have been informed by our Traffic Manager that the following Gala attractions can now be advertised:

"Drive a loco" (£20 per person, up Haworth loop and back, pre booking only)
Behind the scenes guided tours (look for website updates)

Bookings open (names and details will be taken; tickets to follow) for advance tickets - full options and fare structures on website.

More info: tel 01535 645214 or visit the gala page at www.kwvr.co.uk

The WCRC stock is going no further than Keighley this year

Will the 04 and Leander be visiting for the gala weekend only, or will they be staying slightly longer and possibly work before or after the gala??

A question re: fares. Will there be KWVR Branch-only rover tickets available, only the official website doesn't say there will be? If so, how much will they be please?
    Thanks.

32 page booklet, 2.50, plus £1 postage. these are recession times for the public as well, surely it will create some ill feeling. I get fed up of the words only and from, only £2.50 plus a pound. Holidays from £47 but only for one nite for one person plus flights. Rip off Britain strikes again ( unless your an MP and claim it as expences). No doubt there will be a few booklets discarded by punters to be picked up. Having ranted, I will be attending as usual and probably buy the booklet. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

    R U SURE ?
Rang last wednesday having picked up this information From Steam Railway to be told that the drive a loco is not happening...

Whilst we are at it £ 2.50 for the Booklet is fine, and its a great idea. I have on many an occaision popped down on a gala day to watch an hour or so of free ( at Ingrow or 20p for a platform ticket at Keighley) entertainment featuring upto 1/2 a dozen different locos ... i have nt had the time for a ride but i always offer a voluntarily contribution of a few quids anyway... its the least i can do...

    UPDATE:

Drive a loco is now not going ahead - due to a number of reasons, some health and safety, others due to crew limitations and logistics (I.e we would be using the standby loco to do these, if it was needed then we would have to cancel the footplate rides anyway!)

So unfortunatly is not happening - keep a look out for future noticed RE footex tho at the KWVR

Tickets. I am still told that we will offer normal day rovers, but not in advanced as the main focus is on the main line trains.

Souvinir booklet - now in final stages of design, and has been left as late as possible to make sure data is accurate. SHOULD be available 2nd week in June, I.E next week. (Believe me alot of time has gone into this and the wait is worthwhile!!!!!)

My apologies for not updating sooner - an oversight on my part. Thank you to Kieran for providing the update.

And can we order and pay for a copy online?
Surely we don't have to resort to snail mail and those old fashioned cheque things to get one in advance do we?

No facility to order and pay online at the present time.

So cheque or credit card/debit card over the phone on the usual number

    Shame!
It would take just a few minutes to set up a page with a PayPal button. I'll do it for you if you want!

Any chance of listing which locos are expected in use for each day ?

Hoping to be there for some 85 thrash.

Also what times are the last trains on the KWVR ?

From past gala's I would expect a slightly reduced number on friday, no leander and possibly 1 or two of the home fleet will sit it out, while over the weekend everything goes (in steam that is).

For myself I would like like to see leander on KWR line possibly friday, but I gather it will not happen and its also pointing the wrong way.
