And that's a relatively recent problem, due to a change in check rail specs on the modern railway. Evening Star ran several rail tours in the 70's without problem.

Just while we're on this, how does a bald central wheel cause problems? Surely it could go over anything if there's no flange?

"9Fs are banned from the mainline because of their flangeless drivers. Modern turnouts have raised check rails and there is a perception that in certain circumstances the flangeless wheelset could ride up on the check rail leading the derailment of the following wheels". Personally i think its a stonking idea, a new build that really would be a 'new' build... but thats just me.

Other projects have to either succeed, -or not, before im going to show my hand for anymore... the Lotto will decide

'But if he should fail he is the last hope...'
    'No, there is .... another

the only reason no one has seen much from the L1 locomotive group is because we haven't offically launched the group yet and we are working well behind the scenes trying to get everything sorted before we launch

Not much news or details but at least the livery has been chosen. Good to see the most important things done first!

That is good to know, we would not have wanted you to get the frame drawings for the boiler.

Even though we have chosen the livery for the engine there is much more important things to do such as fundraising, constitution, and finding a base
