Well, the moment she's chalked up to do one of the other northern hills (ie. Shap, Ais Gill), I'll drop everything to do it...

It looks like the destination is Chester on this tour and not Liverpool as previously advertised. We went on this tour last year with 44871 and it has alot to reccomend it! if you travel from Cleethorpes as we did it was a very long day!! Should be interesting with Tangmere though...

Just seen the revised itinerary on the RTC website. Looks like Copy Pit will have to wait for the sound of a Bullied engine. But the Cheshire Lines via Delamere, think the last Southern engine to run along that stretch of line was Clan Line during the late 80s or early 90s??

Mental image of linesiders wielding whips, cudgels and blunderbusses as Tangmere passes by.

    BULLEID, please.

Thanks Ralph. If so, I'll have to leave it to our "northern correspondants" - busy in work all day. Maybe I'll get to see her L/E move to Southall. Looking forward to seeing her back on the Big Railway.

Spent yesterday evening editing footage of Tangmere from summer 2009: Swanage Railway, Honiton bank, Milborne Port, etc. The sound track is as evocative as the pictures, maybe more so: the distinctive 3 cylinder "chatter"; a brief slip, quickly caught, then power re-applied; the haunting whistle echoing across the Dorset hills on a summer evening... Haste ye back!

Steam coming from Carnforth today. Whatever it was though was being out clagged by the 47 ticking over...

    Right, pay attention 007 ;-)

I've been told that there is a Carnforth - Carnforth 5Zwhatever in the system for tomorrow (8th). The only timing given was passing Langho at just after 1500 hours.

Make of that what you will.

Tangmere had her fire lit this morning at Carnforth WCR. Tender is piled high with coal. She was full of steam this afternoon and just after 2pm she was moving about on the depot.
A loaded test run is penciled in for tommorrow on the Carnforth to Carnforth circuit and if successful will be on her way to Southall on Thursday morning. Won't know if she runs until she starts on the run.

Yes, c'mon Tangmere, we're all rooting for you! Well done to Carnforth for getting her this far, let's hope for a trouble free test, and a Valentines Day return out of Victoria as planned. I may just have to hang around there for a few hours after going on the lunchtime Steam Dreams tour!!!
