Well, the mainline Bulleid drought is almost at an end. Looking forward to my first tour behind her, whenever that'll be.

Seems like half of NatPres were at or near Langho today. My little attempt from the platform (featuring Steve Thompson, his dad and Phil"981smithy" - good to chat to you all):

Good to see her back - thank you West Coast.

Brilliant, thanks. Awesome loco. Especially now they've given her an ex-GWR whistle! :behindsofa:

And a PS to say, well done once more to Carnforth engineers, you look to have done your usual superb job getting Tangmere back into shape.

(Mind you, if it was one of you gave her the carpark door-dink just in front of the right-hand side cab, you're in trouble.............)

Great footage as always Steve, especially the last storming clip.
I didnt witness any of the Southern Engines as a boy in Yorkshire and I cant say these Locos are my favourite.
However a trip on the Scarborough Spa Express behind Tangmere in May 2008 was very impressive indeed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/goldsteam/2523657537/in/set-72157605305160854/

Thanks for all the videos. In Steve's last clip there is a big stack of concrete sleepers in the field, are they going spare? Could they be of interest to a few railways local to there?

Definitely asking for trouble. No matter how 'aware' one is it is easy to be caught in the moment. I've been on platforms (at a sensible distance from the edge) waiting for a tour, and as it comes into sight everything else is forgotten then something comes through the other road doing about 90 and scares the bejeezus out of you!

    Nice video!

I remember politely asking someone to get back onto the platform (he was just walking off the ramp) at Stratford U Avon from 5029s footplate... I got the "two finger salute" back! Nice eh? What I've found is that there are some photographers that won't be happy until they're right next to the track. I find that a bit sad to be honest...

Just out of interest - with regards to the air pump location. Has it always been there and I have just never noticed, or was she not air braked before?

Really isn't an issue, just interested.
