Does any one know why she ended up being so late off the looping at Northampton?

I waited and waited at Carpenders Park and eventually gave up!

The long drawn out saga of the protracted overhaul of 'West Country' No. 34046 Braunton took a further positive step today when the locomotive moved from Carnforth, from where it had undertaken a successful main line test run last week, to Southall in readiness of taking up charter train duties. It is seen here approaching Tamworth in light steam being hauled by West Coast Class 57/3 No. 57313.
This Sunday's 'Weymouth Seaside Express' or next Wednesday's 'Dorset Coast Express' are likely candidates for haulage by Braunton

The saga got drawn out right to the end, an hour late at Hanwell.

Anybody know why Tangmere has tagged on to Cromwell's move to go to Carnforth?

Looks like a swap, 34046 comes down - 34067 goes back up. Therefore the South hasn't really gained an engine.

34046 will soon be heading to Bristol, so I guess 70013 will be holding the fort at Southall for West Coast workings.

Didn't Tangers suffer some firebox problems a couple of weeks ago? Maybe it hasn't been possible to fix her at Southall, so she's had to go back to HQ? I hope she's not away for long. RTC will want to see her back before next Wednesday's Dorset Coast Express (assuming UKsteam is correct that Braunton is moving to Bristol that day).
