    However, from the BBC news.

South West Trains passengers have been advised not to travel on Monday with most services not running until at least 08:00 GMT to allow Network Rail to check the lines. A reduced timetable will be in operation with journey times extended as some trains are limited to speeds of 50mph

OK so hospital staff don't bother tomorrow, similarly anyone involved in actually keeping the wheels of business in motion, just forget it. Brilliant suggestion.

Having just got back from the MHR, and listening/talking to those in the know, the three loco's will be up at Alton sooner rather than later, to avoid them being trapped by any fallen trees between Ropley and Alton........................... what time they are released onto the network is down to the NR ops manager. the support crews were already preparing for the off late this afternoon........................................

Will the severe weather forecast not impact on this movement? South West Trains are not expecting to run any services before 8am on Monday and then with speed restrictions - with only special trains running before that to check the lines are clear. (Edited to add - posted without seeing the post a few mins before above or the one further up - was using an unrefreshed thread!)

"Shouldn't" do............................... my understanding is they go tonight before the weather hits, as I said its down to the NR ops manager to make the call, the loco's will be primed and ready.............................................

Thanks to you all for the info. I wondered if they would go early due to the "apocalyptic" conditions predicted for tomorrow. So it sounds like they will go tonight, probably pretty late after the support coaches have been shunted and collected from Ropley. I will listen out for them when I am in bed as I can hear the trains going up the hill to Aldershot station.

If I was the fat controller, They would be stuck behind the gate till Tuesday. Last thing I want on a night like this is some grumpy henry engines stuck on the line needed devious diesel to rescue them before they blow up.

I see that 60163's move has been canned due to the high winds (according to RTT), but 34046 & 70000's move hasn't yet been canned, but it hasn't been activated yet either (still not activated as of 0715). Can 60163 tag on to this move again to get out?

Any further news regarding today's move? RTT is still activated but SWT train services had re-commenced earlier this morning but were only from Farnham with the section to Alton still shut at the latest update.

Edit: Just checked SWT main twitter feed which has two pictures of the tree clearance operation and the line is now reported clear.

RTT now states that today's move has been cancelled at the operators request.
Realtime Trains | 574X 0921 Alton to Stewarts Lane T&R.S.M.D

So perhaps they will try tomorrow?

Edit: Since I last checked the cancellation notice has disappeared from the top of the page. So is it now back on today?!
