My usual sources are unable to tell me where Tangmere is currently ! I thought it was at Carnforth but I am told that it wasn't there on Sunday 2 November. Maybe someone could advise ?

Photos on Facebook show 73096 at Alton Mainline station Top and tailed by 2 47s this morning, apparently moving to Southall.

Has it left? Nothing that I can see on RTT.
Couldn't see the photos either, probably me looking in the wrong place though.

Thats a strange route. Alton > Woking up yard > Guildford > North Camp > Reading > Bristol. Means a runaround at Woking Up Yard, then TF across the 4 main running lines, then another run around at Guildford.

I'm more interested to know if the two 5's on Sunday will have a box in the consist or not, ie, if they're coming "home" nose first..........

Don't see why they should, the only change of direction will be at Crewe, leave stock in platform 12, down to Gresty Lane to turn on the triangle then to the Heritage Centre to service, back onto the stock and return to Chester.

They won't or shouldn't be in the consist as they're doing a Steam Dreams trip from Gloucester to Shrewsbury and return on Saturday 29th November so they should be staying at St Phillips Marsh for the week. Sunday 30th November maybe but pointless going from Bristol to Southall and back for the sake of it. That's as far as I'm aware anyway.

    Only going by UK Steam............

As you say, it would be daft for them to go to Southall, but stranger things have happened........

That time on a Sunday afternoon, I wouldn't normally go out - fading light & all that, never mind thoughts turning to putting the Sunday roast on - if they are, I just fancied going out & experimenting with the camera!

On a wet Friday afternoon in November.......

44871 and 45407 plough thro' the wind, rain and gloom, heading south past Bayston Hill for Bristol.
