34067 Tangmere dep Carnforth 0920 Wed to Bristol via Hereford with support coach.

For the record, 5972 moved to Warner Bros studio by road in mid September and is no longer at Carnforth.

This looks like another place where you do not want to be stopped on the incline with a loaded train. I hope that this is taken on board for the future were it to become the route of choice into high numbered Reading platforms. DBS has a well rehearsed plan with the Pullmans when approaching Clapham Junction from Victoria for exactly the same reasons.

    Good morning Andrew,

Can't find this move on Realtime Trains, I wonder if it has been cancelled again.

    Cheers

I'm left wondering how long it'll be before she makes the return journey being hauled by a box, AGAIN!

It seems to have spent more time in the last year Oop North being fixed, than where she belongs hauling trains........

    Same as last time then...........

I'm not knocking the loco or Carnforth, but like I said, she seems to have spent more time idle than earning.

Actually it's a signal box instruction at both Victoria and Wimbledon signalling centres that loaded steam workings ( ie not loco & PO Brake) and all freight workings must be held at signal W145 ( Site of Crofton Road Jn) until a route is set through to platforms 5 or 6 at Clapham Jn.

    Cheers, Neil

So who is the statement 'so obviously someone's not doing things right............' aimed at then?

Tangmere looks to be a high maintenance locomotive. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think that the 'not doing things right' comment is entirely valid unless you are trawling up history.

It was ever thus. 70 years hasn't changed much. But its nice to see her back, there is nothing on the Network quite so smokey.

Rather than having a dig at the people maintaining it, you should be grateful that someone's cheque book is big enough to keep it running when it has missed out on revenue-earning mainline trips.
