    At 40mph that's going to be a long old day out, BTW on an operational level, if she is dead does the footplate need to be manned as that's going to be one cold assignment!

    Diesels towing a cold steam engine....nah....not done that since the Duchess left Butlins Ayr and BTP colleagues at Carlisle gave me a lift to Kingmoor yard! Long, long time ago! Appreciate the suggestion though!

    Couple of technical questions...

    I notice that they have taken the coupling and connecting rods off but left the eccentric crank and arm in place, is there a reason for this otherwise is it not just leaving something that could run hot? I noticed they did same when moving 46233 the other week?

    Is there reason why WCRC took the water carrier down (I assume to provide brake force) rather than a standard carriage, is it something to do with weight?
