Looks as though Tornado has arrived at Ferryhill and is setting back onto the stock and diesel recently arrived from Carnforth. Time to wander down to Tursdale soon then, if i can get away, to watch her pass. Here's hoping for a good and successful run to Carnforth. Welcome back, Tornado

So 60163's test run is a WCRC operation?

I have a video taken at Tursdale. Almost bowled by a Voyager, but got away with it! Will upload later. She sounded well as she accelerated away.

My apologies that I had wrong which 5 o'clock 60163 was leaving Leeming - I am not sure my informant had realised it was 5am either!

It must be good news that WCRC and the A1 Trust are on better terms!

It looks like it, the word is DB don't want anything to do with the A1 Trust anymore. Of course, that might be just 'tittle tattle', we'll never know the facts

Not my vid but here is the evidence of 60163 hauling WCRC stock with a WCRC Class 37 tail gunner!

Are DBC going to have much left apart from the Clan Line work if they don't have the Tornado work?

I wonder what the true story was with the Graeme Bunker episode was. Not a lot has gone right (to date) since he departed.

I'd assume that for DBC, the day job comes first and the steam charters they take are those that are compatible with their day job, their steam crews and the extent to which they can synchronise both alongside their operating and safety requirements.

So DB's last notable achievement with Tornado was a mere 101mph, not a bad way to bow out if the rumours are true. I would still of preferred to have both operators in control of the loco than just one, as we know how DB operated with Tornado.

You don’t know they are not still involved. Probably best not to speculate until one of the parties issues a statement. Having said that I’m very disappointed that the A1 Trust has been less than forthcoming and as a result have spare seats on Sunday’s train.

Probably DB's last notable achievement was actually bringing a train with several hundred people on board safely to a halt and without any injury to those on the footplate. People talk about the A1ST needing some luck over the past year whilst forgetting that this was a very lucky day for them. Think about it.

This months SR seems to suggest that the move to Wensleydale was resourced by WCRC as DB could not resource it, perhaps this is just further of the same. As for them not being forthcoming as the test is only being run 2 days before the tour and thus they cannot really confirm much until the test is completed not sure how more forthcoming they could be?
