Is there any link to VT (bar the obvious staff cross overs) considering that modern staffing and spot hire was supposed to be one of the strings to the new VT operation to cross fund the heritage operation?

It was intended to go back to Keighley yesterday. The plan to return to Southall for the RTC job in a fortnight only developed very late in the day - too late to reschedule yesterday's return working.
It certainly wasn't to give passengers more time in York. Rather there was not enough time to turn and service the loco to give anything like a reasonably return time to the Smoke.

Out and back-SRBB class No 34067 'Tangmere' works 5M51 over Capernwray Viaduct on test to Hellifield and return on its debut after refit at Carnforth with
Steve Chipperfield driving and I believe Martyn Soames firing

34067 Tangmere is seen at Starricks Farm and climbing Giggleswick Bank.

Amended video from Carricks Farm (stood next to Nige) and Gigggleswick Station annoyingly with some microphone gremlins:

    Take care - Chris

Good to see it looks just as smokey, scruffy and sounds just as clangy as before the overhaul.
