Apologies to all concerned. My normally reliable informant has been put on the naughty step.
34028 Eddystone hauled D6515 all the way to WCRC's Southall Depot arriving around 5 minutes early.
It went onto the Up Fast between Worting Junction and Basingstoke station as scheduled. '28 covered the 14-ish miles between Basingstoke and Farnborough (Main) in 14 minutes according to RTT!
A 7/8 minutes loss just before Woking Platform 2 was noted but do not know the cause. Anyway, all that late running was caught up ready for the 'stagger' around the very busy south west London suburbs as well as trying to fit in with frequent London Overground services.
Inspection now underway, no doubt, to see how '28 has fared after it's adventures above 25 mph today.

I wonder if the consist includes WCRC support coach 80217 from Carnforth to Southall ready for 34028's loaded test train? The Swanage Railway's BSK 35011 is still in Herston Works, I believe, having 'finishing touches' sorted.

Phone shot taken on the main approaching Farnborough earlier this afternoon. Amazing to think a return to the mainline (unless I’m mistaken) after 61 years! IMG_0502.jpeg
