One other thing on my mind is whether Tangmere will be ready for her 2012 program on the 11th. Tomorrow is March 1st. Hopefully a LE move shall be posted soon.

A friend has sent me a message a bit ago, he has seen a loco on a low loader on the M56? What is it likely to be and going where?

4936 arrived at the NNR this afternoon according to the NNR facebook page. But I doubt that would be 4936 that your friend has seen ralph, perhaps its one of the ELR engines? 80080 perhaps? unless an agreement has kept 80080 at the ELR. :noidea:

Maybe the B12 on its way from Rileys to the North Norfolk? Or Lord Nelson which I think was due to return to the Mid-Hants this week?

Thanks for that Matt and Malc, from what he has told me since I think it was most likely Lord Nelson..

Don't think there is a loop in that location, Pete are you referring to Horseshoe Bridge? If so, Isn't it just the 4 running lines there?

You do sometimes get quite long sections, several miles, of the slow line of four track referred to as Up or Down Loops.

The line here is 4 track all the way through Padd to Didcot. Some loops have also been re-instated onwards to Swindon, Wantage Road/Challow for instance.

Many thanks everyone for their thoughts. I suppose these days, we don't see many 'loops' but that does seem a feasible answer. I can't recall seeing one but then I probably haven't looked. Just shows on the t0302p.htm as stopping there for 7 minutes but as its such a strange place to stop (no watering etc) perhaps its to let HSTs and Turbos get in front. Not sure whats due at that time cos station departure times don't go that far yet. Anyway, seems she's parking over the Kennet for a few minutes. Its one thing you can't find on the net...track plans!

After trying many times I've given up on any hope of finding track plans online & bought an atlas:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rail-Atlas-Great-Britain-Ireland/dp/0860936325

It probably won't be as detailed as the TrackMaps range or the Trackatlas, but's it's a fraction of the price. I should get it next week so I'll soon see if it's any good. As long as it shows the various goods loops I'll be happy!

Fingers xd that it suits your needs, sweetktg. You might even see a Reading track plan in there. All we have locally is the New Development over and over and over. Still, we will be modern !!!!!!!
