    Just out of curiosity, what did happen with Lizzie on Saturday? It hadn't got to Washwood Heath by 1945 when the light had gone and it was raining.

    its still in light steam this morning when Guardsman left, has been since it got back Monday night, don't know if it's getting fixed, but not sure why its kept in steam,so maybe....

    If the loco is in steam, it would have to be - unless an alternate source of water could be provided to the injectors?

    Actually, DBS worked from Battersby, so I understand worked to Battersby by NYMR under its own steam then presumably towed. The same was to be true for the inward journey, but the DBS driver was briefed to go to Grosmont and to Grosmont he would go!
