LH & RH Drive

    Beatties are an interesting one, right hand drive but the loco brakes are on the left, only space on the back of the boiler. Keeps the fireman on his toes. Funny green badge things.

    Right hand drive means left hand firing, so right hand shovelling, making it more natural for more people, think that's right way round.

    Also, how true it is i don't know but...i like the story of GWR engines copying the horse idea. Regulator (or reins) in your left hand, so you could draw your sword with your right. Obviously the GWR copied this as all GWR crew are/were gentlemen.

    To try to take a stab at Dr Dyonisius Lardner and thereby regain control of their railway and start to try to run a service instead of a glorified experiment in balderdash...
