It's that time of year again! The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway will be holding it's third Easter Steam Gala over the Easter weekend (Saturday 7th to Monday 9th April 2012). This year, we have visiting loco's LNER J72 69023 "Joem" from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway & Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST "Sir Berkeley" from the Middleton Railway joining residents Peckett 0-4-0ST 1749 "Fulstow" & Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No. 1964 "Spitfire". An intensive service will run between 09:45 & 17:25 (first service from Ludborough at 09:45, last at 16:45, first service from North Thoresby at 10:10, last at 17:10), with locomotives changing at both ends of the line once again after each service. It is hoped that at least one locomotive will be facing south for the gala (all being well, should be 69023 "Joem"), so that should make for some different photographic opportunities like last year with "Jinty" 47406. Double heading may also happen again this year, possibly with the 2 residents "Fulstow" & "Spitfire".

In addition, on Good Friday 6th April, an evening photo shoot at Ludborough will take place of the 4 locomotives being prepared for the busy weekend ahead. Please note: The photo shoot will be with the loco's static between 6pm & 9pm.
