Just back from seeing 6201 just north of the bridge over the Grand Union Canal, north of Kings Langley. Going well, lots of exhaust, possibly a couple of minutes late, in fading light.

Working much harder than this morning, when she just rolled by, Kings Langley station rather later than expected. Can some say what was the cause of the delay?

Today was my first outing with my new Cannon 450D camera, with "machine gun" option. Photos may follow, when I work out how to get then out of the camera and in to the computer!

Managed to extract todays photographs from my new camera! I took over 60 photos, all together, machine gun style. The best two are:-

Southbound this lunchtime just north of Kings Langley station

    IMG_0052 (very sma.jpg

Northbound this evening, just north of the bridge over the Grand Union Canal, and south of the bridge over the Kings Langley to Aspley main road.

Nuneaton about 10 down, but going very nicely, must have been close on 75 mph. Preceding LM stopper was about 5 down.

One from South Kenton on the outward and another from Headstone Lane on the return. Made my day hearing it storm up the dead straight track from Harrow and Wealdstone!

Excellent day out - thanks to Ralph for the updates - Stafford, MKC, Bletchley, Berkhamstead, Willesden, Clapham and Tring wasn't bad going!

The Wong Kei was as good as usual too, but what have TfL done to Travelcard availability? - plonkers! - very impressed with the 350 units - but as close relations to the 185s that's only to be expected.

It was just a shame that as we passed Lizzie near Tring homebound that she was coming to a stand as it would have been nice to pace her at speed even with a differential of up to 40mph!

Now for LNER power coming north in three weeks time!

The best shots, strangely enough, were of the ECS move at Clapham.

Two out of the three on the road was asgood as you could expect - and I suppose if you are going to run into Sidmouth it should be on the Southern

Thanks for all the pictures so far, expect to see more today, I'll get my bit from on board sorted later.
Thanks to Neil and Matt for their company on the trip and again to John for acting as guide from KO to Euston, via the pubs!!, and also good to meet Sidmouth at KO and Ben in Baker Street.
It was a fantastic day out with 6201 performing as she was meant to, plenty of running at 70mph + with the final dash down to Crewe reaching a bit over 75.
A big thanks you to all concerned with the organisation, Vintage Trains and their crew, WCRC, and anyone else involved, proving that you can run steam on the WCML to London
    What's next?

Yes indeedy, an excellent day out. Excellent stuff from the linesiders as usual.....some of you should join the papparazi, the patience you show in hanging around in strange places in the hope that your one shot will turn out ok is commendable.:)
    Ralph asks what's next.
Well if the powers that be are reading this how about a double chimney Castle out of Euston with the same load?
Or a Black Duchess INTO Euston......Please.

Nice shots - makes me wish I'd stayed out longer and seen the return run. I though the sun would have gone down by then as it was too low at Shepherds Bush - an hour or so earlier.

Shows the impact buildings can have on the available light or lack of it.

Obviously not trying hard enough :p

I saw 70013 passing Shoreham, 35028 passing Clapham, 6201 leaving Kenny O, 35028 passing 6201 at Clapham, 6201 up Camden Bank, and finally 70013 leaving Chichester. I think i've had my fix for now...
