Lovely day out on the line today and it was made with the glorious sunshine which we had.
Interesting start from Llangollen behind 78019 on the 10.30 service as well ;)

Well done Llangollen for picking nice weather again

The rails in that cutting can be notoriously slippery for the first train of the day!

Nice to have some sun at length - summer arrived, but two months too late :(

Thanks both. There was certainly plenty of "atmosphere" for the first part of the morning, and a little too much at times. It's come out very well on video as well, and a chap next to me with a rather tasty HD camcorder was most pleased with what he filmed.

A video record of a weekend in Wales

I have uploaded three videos of my weekend in Wales to visit the Llangollen Railway’s thoroughly enjoyable ‘Raising The Standard’ gala. The first two are of the Friday and Saturday of the gala, but the third is of the Talyllyn Railway which I visited on the way home on the Sunday. I hope everyone finds them enjoyable.

Sunday around three o’clock on the Talyllyn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HoG33bJ7sc

Lovely day on the line yesterday which clearly demonstrated the Llangollen's very impressive fleet of which 80072 will prove to be a very gutsy addition. The trains did seem to me to be alittle sparsely loaded however maybe I was remembering the packed trains of Steam, Steel and Stars.. Those of you who didn't make it missed clear blue skies, some good steam action from a varied fleet and some fine music, particularly from 44806 and 80072 on the late 1pm departure from Llangollen!
