Timetables now seem to be working : have just tried looking and found Friday blank then looked at Saturday and Sunday then re-tried Friday and it came up ! I have now managed to print it out but presume a computer glitch prevents immediate access.

The visitors hadn't arrived when I was in the m.p.d. on Saturday, but 80072 is facing Llangollen & 3802 facing Corwen.

I'd imagine the visitors will be facing West as usual as they both have photo charters after the gala. Don't think I can remember the last charter with a loco facing East.

The pannier is due today, and the mogul on Wednesday I believe.

Not sure if this has been mentioned else where but the Llangollen Spring gala will mark the return to public display of TVR 28 for the first time in 20 years. The Welsh Train project team will be present with the engine, up in the locomotive works at Llangollen to meet and greet people and show off this wonderful engine !

1638 arrived yesterday, 5322 is due on Wednesday. Member of the engineering team at Llangollen posted this on the Unofficial Llangollen Railway Facebook Page last week.

Are the morning/afternoon departures shown with two locos double headed or top and tail? And in whatever case is 3802 leading the 0930 Saturday?

And I assume if I was to buy a ticket online today, I have to print it out myself?

Just had a look at that, the 38 leads, then drops onto the back of the train when it gets to Carrog to enable the train to run top and tail to Bonwm. The mogul the leads back to Llan. Done that way for the locos to be in the right order afterwards I think.

I'm not 100% sure on the online ticketing system, but I think you do have your own ticket out.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Is it known what colour rakes sets 'A' and 'B' will be?

It doesn't take much to tempt me into visiting Llan' for a day but the prospect of 5322 going up to Berwyn will do just nicely. I'll have to arrange to be on Berwyn station at the right times for the freights too. I'll miss 44806 though, is there any substance in the rumours in Jan about 45337 coming to the Dee Valley?

45337 use Llan as their engineering base, so it could be possible.

Should be on its way back there soon for boiler/firebox repairs after problems at NVR a couple of weeks ago.

For those in hold of a WTT, could you advise the timings of 1638 on the morning ECS to Carrog please?

    Thanks in advance/

Is all OK with 1638? I notice that it's no longer going fhe the Battlefield Line gala next weekend.

It was test run here yesterday, and is about to go off shed! It's running charters here during the week, so maybe a bit pushed to get transport in time?

Looked good to me this morning.

    1638.JPG

The roadworks with traffic controls at Glyndyfrdwy and Llydiart y Parc were a bit of a nuisance, with big queues, but they might have been removed for the weekend. Quiet early on but picking up later, mostly old crusties like me who don't have to work!:)
