Not me personally... I gather it will be wheel set, axelboxes and hornguides that will be used for constructing a bogie.....

Looking at the photo, am I right in thinking that the pony truck has been gassed off fairly recently? If so I find it quite a sad event...

About three weeks ago i think. Was there doing some rivetting on 7754 when a few of the paid staff were attempting to get the pony truck off...

I will confirm this when I visit Llangollen today but I beleive the boiler of Peckett "Sir Gomer" was delivered this week for work courtesy of Llangollen PLC engineering. If so, we now have two Ex-Mountain Ash locos "on shed", Sir Gomer and Pannier 7754.

The boiler is on site, sitting very close to the scrap skip in the yard...

Just a little bit of news:
    Railmotor update:
The railmotor chassis was placed under the body today following work undertaken by the permanent staff up at the shed.

The Dukedog is as stated elsewhere is down at Pentrefelin and has now lost it's GWR transfers.

I think you might find the GWR on the tender was painted on

An example of the superb skills of the signwriters at the Bluebell Railway

Sadly no more as she slowly changes into her 1950s livery

    Another update:
First up the wheel lathe has gone. It left last week for according to my sources Hunslet. This frees up quite a bit of room in the shed and with the railmotor chassis now under the body down at Pentrefelin we'll be able to store more engines inside or at least till the Class 25 comes in for the outstanding work required to make it less of a rusty rat. 6430 is back together again and fit as fiddle to continue auto working and should be out next for a certain gala that is coming up in the next few weeks.

    Now for the picture news:
H and the gang down at Pentrefelin have finished the latest contract job of overhauling a MK.1 Buffet for Rivera trains and it is now ready.

Also out in the sun following a shunt was the LNER sunshine coach which is being slowly overhauled by volunteers and will be finished in a lovely teak finish.

Back up at the shed one of the shed shunters has been on the receiving end of some TLC and now sports a good deal of new paint to make it looking somewhat respectable again.

Inside the shed work continues on many fronts with the GWR group working away on there small prairie and the railmotor having it's boiler put back on it's bogie again.

Also the standard tank is coming along nicely.

After today's efforts the standard now has the front running boards and steam pipe covers back on...

5199 is having the once over before it returns to the Churnet Valley.

Work on the jinty's boiler is progressing nicely.

And in other news the black 5 has turned back into 44801 again.

    Update time:
A few new things of interest to add for all those following this thread.

I'll start of down at the carriage works and work my way up.
Firstly a new coach has arrived on the line. Also note the new concrete that will form the base for are jacks that will unable the lifting of coaches.

Secondly one of the Maroon set has been repainted and now looks quite smart.

And the railmotor is making great progress.

The hole is to allow the boiler to be lowered in and taken out.

Also great progress has been made on the restoration of ECJS 377 which was fire damaged at one when it was in departmental service.

    Now up to the shed.

The wheels for 3802 are back and so she should be back on them shortly or when time permits.

The railmotor is also making great strides towards being complete with it's cladding all but finished.

On a even better note are resident jinty is in the shed which means it can't be long before it is reunited with it's boiler.

It is hoped that it will make the autumn gala and will appear in BR Black. A livery it hasn't carried in some time. Not sure if it's the first time in preservation but it had many of us scratching are heads to remember when it did run in BR livery.
It will then remain in BR livery for the remainder of the year before reverting back to it's Thomas guise.

And Foxcote Manor is beginning to be stripped down in preparation for it's overhaul. I hope for a quick turnaround as there is nothing better than a manor barking up the bank.

47298 was in BR Black for the February 2001 Branchline gala.

Probably the last time it was in a 'normal' livery.

Aww, sweet! So that means the black paint needs to be ordered for sometime between late August and your Autumn Gala, then, which is...when?

The Autumn Gala is September 11th, 12th and 13th.

Expect a Black Standard tank and hopefully a Black Jinty if their finished by then. Wonder what else we can put into black for the gala!!!

    Wouldn't a Black 5643 look good on the subs!!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
