Apologies if this is covered upthread but is there any indication as to what'll be hauling RTC's Stratford Flyer on Saturday?

I've heard it'll be 46115, but would await confirmation either on the RTC website or from a ticket holder.

Talk at Stafford suggests the return isn't stopping here, and instead going through to Crewe for water, does anyone know whether there is any truth in this or just platform end wibble?

The stop at Stafford overran a little this morning.

Anybody know what's up with the ECS move? Still at Stratford despite being due to depart 45 minutes ago.

Driver passed the stop board, I'm told no change for the return as there is a new driver due on.

Thanks for the update Liam. Just seen it pass Lapworth with Scot leading so assumed it had been sorted. It was originally due to sit at Stratford for an hour after coming back from servicing so it may still leave on time.

I’m not sure how that could water at Crewe as it can’t use platform 12 as there’s no access from there to the Wilmslow line and I doubt whether they would be allowed to water in platform 1, 5 or 6.

Crewe isn't that busy on a Saturday evening so 1, 5 or 6 could be used if there's a hydrant.

I was told by an esteemed member of Nat Pres who I bumped into at Stafford earlier this morning that platform 12 at Crewe would be used, followed by setting back towards the Stoke line to allow access towards Manchester

RTT says UDG for the Stafford stop on the return.

I had wondered about that and with a diesel on the back it is possible.

This is only conjecture from experience of other tour operators.
Stafford at 62miles76 chains is about the right distance for the first water stop. ( Allowing for keeping 1000 gallons in reserve on arrival at a water stop.)
Crewe is 87m17ch, so would require a fair degree of diesel assistance. Is Chelford Loop any use for taking water? The next stop of any duration is 13 minutes at Stockport Edgeley.

The schedule on RTT shows using Crewe platform 5 and no odd reversals. Also the schedule doesn't have any VSTP alterations.

    Cheers, Neil

Currently at platform 5 at Stafford, so no water there.

Edit: Left after a couple of minutes, so looking like Crewe.
