I believe that was not even the case in steam days.

Anyway, who would fancy the chances of a TF stock movement out of Lime Street? Either way with a relatively short main train the extra weight will just be an inconvenience rather than the A4 needing help.

Our 47 will be with the train all day. It is required for the Lime Street end, and since it is with us, it can do the ETH as well.

It will be reassuring to know the 47 is there to assist if necessary in/out of the tunnels at B'Ham New St also.

Ben - wondering whether there are still seats available in standard, and approximately how long the break in Liverpool will be? Tempted to book as my weekend plans have just altered.

The website does not mention being full booked so you best bet is to give VT a call ASAP.

This train has apparently been cancelled due to FBU action.

In the grand scheme of things and viewed objectively, the risk posed by this trip must be far less than the risk posed by other potential fire/flashpoint issues across the whole network. NR cannot halt the network but it can stop a charter. I call that mean spirited and disproportionate. That said, I hope it isn't something stupid like the fact that the train goes through New Street

I just cannot imagine Liverpool Lime St will feature in those options in the light of this cancelation. I wish to be proved wrong but dont see it happening.

Presumably the limited time left on Bitterns ticket hampers things in that respect, hopefully Fireman Sam decides to behave himself on the 8th.

Got to feel sorry for all operators this weekend, its a pretty lame excuse from NR, something that may not have happened 3 - 4 years ago.

    Wonder what has changed.....

The blame and compensation culture I suspect, which intrudes on so many parts of our lives today.
