I suppose there is more than a hint of this with Ellerman Lines…

Happy to be proved wrong with these. It's harder than you think - I was going to include 4566 at the Valley, but it's not steamed since 2017!

Just missed it I think. There's a few locos that seemed ever present but somehow have completely missed out a whole decade - 70000 for example.

Good shout mate, I thought it was a contender but I believe it totally missed out 2000’s didn’t it?

Scanning through SVRwiki descriptions 4566 & 46443 also nominally qualify, although will likely lose out on the 2020s unless their overhauls are started pretty sharpish!

    60009?

About 15 years, then nearly 5 years being overhauled.

Hunslet Austerity Whiston. It retired from NCB service in the earlier 1980s and then returned in the late 80s and has run in every decade since then.

Thinking about what were popular small locos in the early days, Jinty 47493 (ESR & SpVR) seems to qualify and I think 47298 too, although struggling to find evidence of noughties for the latter.

Prince on the FfR, that nearly managed every decade since the 1860s, but missed out on the 1970s, Merddin Emrys has only missed out on the 1950s since the 1870s, but I believe both Linda and Blanche have worked in every decade since the 1890s.

Not quite as Prince missed the 1940’s as well.

According to Festipedia Prince worked sporadically until 1941 - I've just checked my copy of Little Giants and that does indeed suggest Prince came out of service in 1936, so my bad. I should check the reference material I have readily to hand!

I think you may have misread it Festpedia says - “However, the firebox began to have problems and Prince was withdrawn in 1936. Work was carried out to repair the firebox in 1937, but it was found to be beyond repair. The chassis received some maintenance in 1938 in anticipation of ordering a new boiler, but this was delayed due to a lack of money. Work continued sporadically on the chassis until at least 1941”.

Although it (probably) won't steam in the 2030s etc, 60009 put in a good stint in every decade.

Having had a quick google but think from reading a couple of posts, 1800 'Thomas" at the Nene Valley has ran in every decade.
