The four letter LMS names Mars, Ajax, Rhyl etc were cast on a common nameplate size that could be used for other names with more letters in them.
    I would go for B1 61018 Gnu.

60835's name was in three or four lines, so the plate wasn't very long, just tall.

I think National Preservation would make a nice name.

Got £3million to build a new engine?
Then you could call it "National Preservation, Wrong Livery, Linesiders Are A Waste Of Space, Everything Is A Conspiracy,The NRM Doesn't Know What It's Doing, Loco Owners Are Always Wrong, I Know Best"
Now that would be the longest nameplate, and probably would need a b****y long engine to fit it on. :) :) :) :) :)
Any additions to make this the longest nameplate ever? :-k

Heritage Railway Magazine and Cedric Johs's needs to remember that Top Gear is a car show the episode needs to involve car scenes and that cab scenes did not concentrate on Clarkson calling his co presenters on their progress. And that continuity was ruined and moaning about camera shots and moaning about everything else in general. And that the magazine leave York and Scotsman alone despite some wrong decisions they still own the locomotive.

My contender for longest nameplate. (Shame because I'm normally a avid reader of Heritage Railway) May need 2 or 3 locos for the space of it.
