    That is a welcome peice of information......I wish Mr Lewis all the best with his new crane, and perhaps the restoration will happen sooner rather than later....hopefully his fundraising will not take too long.

    An interesting post on the WNXX forum this week from someone involved with the crane now it is at CHC:-

    "... it still looks in a very poor condition but is actually far more complete than had originally been reported earlier last year. The only things missing are boiler fittings, a builders plate and a couple of axle box covers."

    Is it possible that the extent of the damage caused by metal thieves was exaggerated? Surely not.
