    And of course - you don't mind a start to stop average of around 40mph, long stops in out of the way places and only about two hours at your destination.

    Its a day's entertainment that is the real comparison - not a mere journey price!

    If you want a comparison with premier dining in the leisure market, try the Marco Polo or Ocean Countess - hotels that go places - bed, breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner, and your bed, for well under £100 per person per day - and in the case of the Marco - 20,000 Sulzer horses romping away in a 1964 ice breaker hull. You get what is advertised in detail more than a year in advance so you can plan and buy with confidence.

    Even the QM2 is only £130 per night Transatlantic - beats being crammed in a Mk One for eight days with arsey stewards and would be cheerleaders! and you have wi-fi!

    Your using the wrong ticket supplier then,

    I've just checked prices for the 18th when I am travelling, advance Standard is £55 and 1st is £98 for similar journey
    times
