    The 2300 - 0700 instruction also applies to WB's...ie...train approaching a WB at 0655 is not required to sound his horn.

    0:45 to 1:04 of continuous chime whistle from 60009 – I was told Mr Cameron had his hand on the whistle but can’t be certain!

Reminded of the Standard 5 at Upper Scudamore when the ashes of Bryan Dudley-Ward were place in the firebox by his widow and the haunting sound of the "crow" whistle was something that will live with me forever and to witness a train of people, some in tears, but in absolute silence, was a massive tribute to a very fine and loved engineman, just as Paul Kane was."

    I can never watch the sequence on the PSOV ML DVD of 73096 on Upton Scudamore without getting moist eyes. Very moving as you can see BDW's widow and son on the footplate as 73096 passes the camera.

    The great man himself, BDW was fond of the whistle too as can be heard in this clip of 73096 tackling Whiteball with BDW on the regulator:
