I have an exact date match with a Horwich-built Ivatt Mogul. But as the loco never even saw its 15th birthday, I'm not celebrating.

Hmm no exact match for me. It seems I was born three days after 70011 Hotspur four days before 70012 John of Gaunt and 13 days before 70013 Oliver Cromwell. at least two of us are still going. RIP Hotspur and John of Gaunt

Just curious but how does being born in 1989 fit with your strap line of telling it as it is since 1985?

Actually if you filter to BR classes only then for the majority of people on this site you will include their birthdate and remove the need to search through too many pages.

I tried that, but on the unfiltered search I got this list of March 1951 "births":
    70003, BRIT, 01/03/1951
    43102, 4F-A, 02/03/1951
    70002, BRIT, 06/03/1951
    43103, 4F-A, 09/03/1951
    42086, 4P-C, 10/03/1951
    43104, 4F-A, 16/03/1951
    42087, 4P-C, 17/03/1951
    43112, 4F-A, 29/03/1951
    42088, 4P-C, 30/03/1951
    43105, 4F-A, 30/03/1951
    70004, BRIT, 30/03/1951
    1638, 1600, 31/03/1951
    1639, 1600, 31/03/1951
    1640, 1600, 31/03/1951
    1641, 1600, 31/03/1951
    8429, 9400, 31/03/1951
    8469, 9400, 31/03/1951
    9441, 9400, 31/03/1951
    9442, 9400, 31/03/1951
    9443, 9400, 31/03/1951

but on the BR search I got only the 3 Britannias, so I think the BR filter must bring up only BR-designed classes, not all the BR-built but region-designed ones.

Yep - that's what I'd expect it to do - filter by designer, not builder.

OK - its a little ambiguous as it says Region not builder or designer.
