    Just as a follow up: reading the accident report, HN Gresley, in his report on the trial running of K and K1 class locos on the LNER, noted that the two cylinder K (No. 803 - with laminated springs) ran more steadily than the K1 (No. 890 - still with with the older coil springs), which he attributed to the springing of the Bissell truck (page 37 of the accident report):
