Nice shot John, we were doing a steady 30 at that point, sounded good from on board.

I did look for your trade-mark 'barnet' in the train Ralph, but couldn't see it ! Unfortunately it clouded over a couple of seconds before the shot. If the sun stays out I'll probably head out to Woodacre this evening.

Nice shot John, I was about 3/4 Mile to the north west of you, video up later, couple of wobbles on though looking through it. I f I had known you were at the bridge I would have stopped for a chat.

Ok, I will give you a text or ring on Friday sometime.

    My stills from Pleasington earlier:-

    http://neils-photographs.smugmug.co...m-2011/16310584_dHgWT#1442545628_6TSStXp-O-LB

And in B&W as it was in dappled shade from the trees:-

    http://neils-photographs.smugmug.co...m-2011/16310584_dHgWT#1442545857_87kvhnG-O-LB

There is a metal frame of some sort to the left at that location so it is very tight getting the last coach in and the loco still being in sun at that time of day.

John, this stewarding is not all head out of window you know, there is work to be done...... Nice shot though even if you did miss me, but fortunately I managed to get on Neils shot at Pleasington but only because I knew he was going to be there.
Shap summit was passed at 42.5 mph according to the timekeeper on board, and the run from Carlisle to there was very good overall.
My video from Penrith somehow does seem as goo quality as the previous weeks, not sure why, I'll process it and see if it is woth uploading, at this point I'm not sure..:eek:hwell:

...at around 1.36 in? I notice you said earlier that you were doing a steady 30mph around the Helwith Bridge area. At around 3.10 into my video 5305 seems to acelerate the 11 coach load away nicely on the more level section.

    Neil.

Yup that's me ... Speed increased towards 40 along that stretch on the easier grade after clearing the bridge and getting onto the straight...

Anyone interested in a run southbound over Shap behind 70013, there are still spaces available for a one way, POTD, Carlisle to Preston, on the final Moorlander next Monday.

I heard that 5305 was in the frame rather than 70013......! We shall see soon enough. Both are wonderful locos so it doesn't matter anyway. Oh yes-I did phot one of the famous post xmas Shap runs in appalling weather by 70013 after an overnight coach ride from London to Kendal on Boxing day 1967 when I were a lad + v long days+nights+hunger were the usual fare!!!

I hope everyone has a good run on monday.
