The only main line registered WR loco's that could come are from Tyseley (Castle or Hall or Pannier tanks) or 9466? (don't know where this is at the moment)

What about Kinlet & Olton Hall? The latter is probably rather doubtful though.

Does the Railmotor count as a 'locomotive'?!

If there are gauging problems for mainline locks they are at Aldershot not Alresford!

Ah well, would've been leaving Alresford at 5 for Mottisfont if I had visited. Pleased the 9F has been turned, certainly opens up a number of photographic opportunities!

Thanks to everyone who replied (on this thread and privately), I really appreciate your help!

    Now, roll on Maunsell Magic...

Can't see any movement on UKSteam although 70000 is returning to Eastleigh after its trip today (but it would probably still be in gauge for Alresford after its visit last year) and 71000 is down for a Salisbury to Cambridge on September 11th although not sure where she is and again would probably be in gauge for Alresford.

I hope the rumour is true although not sure what it could be if it is GWR. I too wouldn't mind the Railmotor but can't see it happening (has it got its mainline certificate yet?).

The gauging problem was Aldershot to Alton and the loco in question was very famous for sitting on a river bridge above a pageant recently. Alas academic now as NR couldn't do the necessary.

Well, have a word with the powers-that-be and see if you can persuade them to give the timetable a tweak!

She looks great. Clearly a lot of effort put into her.

Just back from an enjoyable, smoky visit to the MHR. 45379 was on good form on the service train in the morning but was having brake problems in the afternoon. The yard was a smokescreen for most of the day with six loco's brewing up for tommorrow. Also bumped into 73129. Good to put a name to the face. Couple of shots from the day: DSC06873_2.JPG DSC06878_2.JPG

And a short video of the smoky yard scene:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4tEWjAcvSI&list=UUUdwgrxYw2_jU7LgFW1VJ6w&index=1&feature=plcp
