I think it might be £3 a pint, rather than £2, but still great value.
I understand that Itchen Valley are one of the breweries for the weekend.

It's £2 / pint on the RAT....I will double check the prices for the weekend, you may be correct that they are different.

Availability of a lorry and the necessary movement notice might be more of an issue really

Where's Hammy then Lee!!! (See Avatar)
I was training most of the day but did pop up to Alresford station late in the afternoon, in cold drizzle, as I had to drop some paperwork off. As a show of solidarity, I took advantage of the "Driver for a fiver" opportunity in the "Belle" siding. Great fun, and I managed to park 12049 at the bottom of my garden (although several track-widths away)

Very nice Lee, I didn't get up to Ropley today and I had to work this evening and missed the best of the light!

    A very enjoyable gala.
In fact what made it good it was a simple gala as in organisers not trying to do too much.
Well done to those that organised it. Best gala of the year so far (and that includes the steam ones I've been to) and hope you are able to repeat next year. Next year I will make sure am there for 3 days and not just one.

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm with you re simple galas, one of the best (steam) galas for me recently was when the M7 visited the MHR back in 2012 - just one visiting loco, but a good timetable. Anyway, weather is fair in Alresford today, Jim Russell is ready to let you drive up and down the headshunt for a fiver and Duty Druid is keen for people to check out the QMB at Alton, so another enjoyable day awaits!

Had an enjoyable day saturday did everything but the 11 and the unit, the real ale and cider went down well,
    Pros
    Real ale
    no stupid double headers
    organizers that have a clue
none of that mixed traffic nonsense.

Cant find a con apart from 901 having to leave and not being on the rat saturday ;)
I'l forgive you for that , I'l be back up for 41312 and lion at some point, hope things pick up for you .
Heres a few photos from the day.
hope the luck for diesels up there changes soon.

Just to add my congratulations to the line. A great day spent yesterday at the MHR. Those that had to write and rewrite the timetable did a great job and the staff on duty were both friendly and attentive. #DutyDruid had nothing to worry about. The QMB was a real credit to the work the wagon group guys put in and the crane at Medstead is coming along really nicely and beginning to look like it has always been there.

Just a few shots to add to those already on here.
