    Thanks Lee:

The latest I have is that there will be a model Railway exhibition, plus a photographic slide show from henry O"Dwyer in the goods shed at Alresford, admission free. At least the day will not be too bad is the weather is foul.

    Best regards

what is running the passinger services on this weekend ? as most who visit, are going for the freight trains, it might be just as well to turn out the dmu and thumper and keep the steam for the freight turns and have maybe 34007 and the 9f doing turn around and the yankee on the alresford to ropley shuttles or if you want to have more varitety throw the fives into the mix and dont say what is working, keep them guessing
in my experience the best gala i was involved in was the wharts and all end of steam, i was one who chalked up the s15, as did others ,seeing the 33 hauling the 4 with rods off did bring a lump in my throat finaly a plea, as you have 60019 there, can steam dreams do a railtour that comes down to alresford and does an engine change say tangmere to ropley ,and bittern back then repeat it a week later to get both engines back to their operating base, enough water has gone under the bridge now to forget about the personel problems and to say to the support crew that they would be welcome

That would be nice Martin I agree to let bygones be bygones although I am not sure just how much a former Shedmaster is involved with "Tangmere" now, only time will tell.

I hear that the final turns are being sorted as I write this but we will now to wait until it is all official so please watch this space.

    Best regards

No I do not currently volunteer
I shall definitely try to get down for this event. Sounds very good for an off-peak event! It's good to see the MHR doing more events spread over the year. I hope they do well.

    Chris,

I will pop up for a cuppa if that is ok, and to help out if need be, but I am planning on meeting my old buddies at Ropley to help out in the shed; if that is ok??

    Best Wishes

    Andy

Hi Andy you keep saying that you are coming down for a work day but you never appear.
Maybe you need to request a work permit from her in doors.

So could 5224 take part in the event? it seems more appropriate than other locos. 30075, 92212 and 34007 all seem right. But 60019 doesnt.

If the MHR could organise a van train then 60019 would be appropriate.

Not enough restored vans as yet Ian, and anyway 60019 may soon be based somewhere else.

    Regards
    Chris

I realise that but one can dream. I am told June's railtour with 60019 from Alton is essentially her move away from MHR metals.
