    Yes you should.

If you say when you plan to visit, you never know, you might even get a welcome committee.......... ;)

I dont fancy going much now! Joking aside I'll keep you informed. I have a feeling though I'll mention it to Dad and he'll want to tag along... And when he wants to go it wont be same time as I have planned!

    Hold up, we're a friendly lot! :)

Its always nice to put a face to a name of a fellow NP user, annnnnd, if you time it right, you might be afforded a guided tour of the yard at Medstead, to see what we get up to in the wagon group..... oh, and I'd introduce you to the delights of Triple fff! ;)

Depending on what kind of day you want, you could always pitch up when its a two train service, or if you want things busier, when there's at least three running - depends what floats yer boat....... or your old mans!

If you want a subtle hint, War on the line later this month is always good, and if you like vintage vehicles - the Dene Rally is also going on then, so you could make a weekend of it. :)

I'll take you up on that offer, we did pay a visit down there but ended up going to the pub with the M7 outside in Alton about 2006 when Albion played Pompey. It was Santa season though so we couldnt have a little trip. I know Dad fancies a day out there but I think he wouldn't mind a visit to Tom's neck of woods too. Then theres KESR and the Isle of Wight too... There's always somewhere new to visit, and then someone else's gala pops up...

Ah, the Railway Arms - tis now a Triple fff house. ;):)

As for the offer, its always there, providing I can make it, so if you do make a weekend of it, you stand a better chance, as I can't guarantee a Saturday..... if you can't do WOTL, the next busy timetable weekend I can think of is, members & shareholders weekend - neck end of September, when there's plenty going on - freight, Thumper Unit, busy timetable, tours of Medstead yard etc.

I have to say, having visited the Mid Hants last Thursday I was most impressed with how friendly everyone was. Managed to get a nose around a couple of the signalboxes, a good chat with the footplate crew on 925; overall it was a very open, welcoming place.

I will take you up on your offer but I've no idea when! Thankyou very much though. I should imagine when we do visit it'll be by train (we both like our ale!) As you well know! On a personal note I also want to see 925 in steam, just for the amount of times me and my brother cabbed it a York!

As was a mate and mines visit to your line last year, and the courtesies extended to us by your staff on all the stations, and your RO on the day. :)

Its always nice to know that those from other railways find their visit as enjoyable as those of Joe Public, on whom we all rely, no matter what day of the week it is - it will please all of us who are the "great unwashed" in whatever capacity, and no doubt the "powers that be" who read this forum, that the most critical of visitors - a fellow railwayman - has a good day & friendly experience! ;)

Well.......... if you want to see 925 in steam, she's down to work WOTL later this month, and no doubt members weekend in September - just depends when & what you want to do.......... if you want to make a weekend of it, , as not only do you have a variety of trains & the Dene Rally for traction engines etc, with no doubt a free vintage bus service to & from the event , and a better chance of being able to book a local hotel/B&B.........

Well if I say to Dad 'I've got this planned' he'll be fine with it. If however the females ie Mom and Mrs Matt ask 'where are you 2 off to? That's where it starts to get tricky... And it works out cheaper to go from Sandwell and Dudley (my old stomping ground) than Cambridge. How does that work?
