The talk of the Urie last weekend was within 18 months but could be sooner with 499 a must for 2020.

Shouldn't be to long before we see 76017 storming up Medstead bank. Led to believe the railway doesn't want any photos put on the internet until after the unveiling of 76017.

Any idea when the unveiling will be? The occasion could be a good chance for the MHR to get some extra bums on seats on a normal weekend service? I know that there are a lot of people eagerly awaiting her return.

Moved under its own power this afternoon up the headshunt. Looks like the boiler inspector was happy.

Meanwhile the QMB is all but complete, bar the stovepipe chimney - it looks the dogs danglies. :)

Not sure if it'll be in the freight rake next weekend....................... :Nailbiting:

I did notice the other week Network Rail have now boarded up the entrance to the footbridge. I understand the major issue with repairing the bridge is working above the 3rd rail.

Some nice pictures of 76017 at Alresford posted on the MHR Twitter feed today. They also said she is now back in service. Does that mean she will be in use at the weekend?

I see the photos are also on Facebook. Just wonder if 76017 will work the freight train this weekend.

Ahhh missed it....was in Kent on hospital duty today! Richard Bentley told me on Tuesday that 76017 wouldn't be rostered until early August

According to their Facebook page, there is still more testing to be undertaken before she enters service.

76017 first revenue service may happen over the August Thomas event.
