And is that 30828's chassis alongside? Where and when were they last "on shed" together? Feltham in c.1960?

I think its really interesting that the blogs have actually led to new volunteers - something for other lines to consider perhaps beyond just regular news updates?

Speaking of 828 any news regarding how her overhaul is going or has it not started. Been quiet since it was withdrawn.

Don't forget 30506 is also in Ropley yard. Does anyone know if three S15s have been together in preservation?

841 will never steam again - frames knackered. 825 is only operational because most of it is from 841. 830 is a very long term project, not sure of the details

In all fairness the frames are not knackered, the group only said they were slightly out of true from memory. Saying 841 will never steam again isn't really true either when the majority of 825 is parts restored for 841, she just may not steam as 841 again. I would however like to see 825 carry the identity from 841 in the future as she stole a lot of bits from her sister!

Today at Ropley Ransome & Rapier 45 Ton Steam Crane DS1580 was used to put the frames of 30499 on a concrete stand outside the new boiler and wagon shop.

Just out of interest i see in the loco roster for July, that 45379 is not rostered, is she in need of some work, just being given a rest, or is it annual boiler exam time?

I'd say seeing as her cab is loaded with wood for lighting up, that for this month she is on back-up, much like 850 for much off the month folllowing the spring gala, which MAY mean, she sees most of next month in service and for example 31806 is on back-up for most of next month.
Just my theory, probably not right XD

I would imagine the MHR are going to get a lot of use out of 31806 and 73096 before the agreement runs out in 2014 and before the Std 5's ticket runs out in September.
