Is 60163 residing at Ropley between tours, or is she there for some annual maintenance using MHR facilities?

According to the A1 Trust's Where is Tornado Now page it says she's at the MHR for winter maintenance. Is 70000 still at Ropley or is she now back at Crewe under maintenance and repainting?

I wonder if that fits my theory that she will appear again with a BR late crest.

70000 is in the DRS depot at Crewe where their paint shop is being utilised for the repaint into BR green.

Slightly off topic, but in an interview with Rail Professional I see the new MD of South West Trains, Tim Shoveller, started off his railway career... as a volunteer on the MHR. Who'd have thought!

With a name like Shoveller I suppose there was only one career option for him.

I see that there has been huge progress on erecting the Kings x bridge this week with the help of the 45 ton steam crane. it has been all hands to the pumps with Colin Chambers , C&W staff and contractors aiding so I guess it will not be long now.

If I can get a couple of pictures tomorrow,I will ask Lee Marlow, (73129), if he will post them up for me as my computer skills are not as good as they should be.

    Regards
    Chris

According to the news report last night, completion isn't due until June - they could be wrong though!

Still its nice to see the guys finally managing to work out the 'jigsaw' puzzle, it is sure to be a popular asset for the line!

I see the Cheltenham Blog on the MHR website has been updated twice with news that 925's boiler has had its first fire in its boiler since 1980 as well as additional work at Eastleigh. Not long now and with 928 in the overhaul queue at the Bluebell and 30926 at the NYMR (which is a bit too far for me to get to) it'll be great to ride behind a Schools which will be a new experience for me.

Anyone know when 30928 will be running again at the Bluebell?
