925 Cheltenham has now arrived back and is still facing out of Alton.

Not gospel but....925 (almost certainly) and 31806 spring to mind, depending on the Uboat working (she was due for a test run end of last week, but did not appear on Saturday when Cheltenham and Wadebridge were running) If not the U then Wadebridge I guess. We had the Schools on the Watercress Belle on Saturday and what a superbly smooth run we got, and early back too! The driver and fireman were both in their early to mid twenties and did the MHR proud

Thanks for pointing this out, 45076. One question (Perhaps Hampshire Unit can oblige):- on 13th and 14th, it says '31806 and 34007'. The following two weekends show '34007 and 31806'. Does the order in which the locos are listed bear any relation to whether they are diagrammed to work the first train out of Alton or out of Alresford, or is there no significance in which loco is listed first?

    Thanks

Just had a message from a reliable source stating this weekend will be the U-Boat and the Black five.

As regards which loco starts from Alton or Alresford, usually the first departure is in the direction the loco is facing. So, Wadebridge and the Black Five would start from Alresford and the Schools, the U-boat and Lord Nelson would start from Alton. Obviously if both locos face the same direction this wouldn't apply.

Is the loco roster this weekend likely to be as per website (U & Wadebridge)? Many thanks!

Sounds about right, though the Thumper makes it a bit of a lopsided service in terms of passenger capacity.

Still, its the right decision to run them as opposed to upsetting the local farmers by inadvertently burning down their crops never mind upsetting Trumpton!

I'm guessing I won't be the only one to be in attendance both days to enjoy this bonus diesel gala! I'm really looking forward to this.

Oh hang on that maybe cause your engines have to work hard due to the gradients don't you? At least your diesel service was intentional...
