A shame we can't have 50027 Lion and 37905. I don't think 905 has worked since the diesel gala.

According to a friend on Facebook, 905 isn't fit to run at the minute. Not sure why.

Reading WNXX forum tonight. There seems to be a number of people wanting to ride behind 09 at the BLuebell this weekend. Maybe the MHR should consider running class 11 and 08 this weekend.

Sadly Lee the class 11 is only air braked ,and the 08 too slow.

Just what is running tomorrow then?

    Hi Chris,

The point I'm making is there are people out there that want to travel behind class 08/09s. I understand about the speed restriction of an 08 but surely the time table can always be changed to allow a slower service train.

Some years ago, I had occassion to signal the MHR 08 on a Class 1 train:
"Breakdown van train or snow plough going to clear the line, or light engine going to assist disabled train; Express passenger train; Officers special train not requiring to stop in section."
There was some discussion at the time whether this had happened before on the Watercress Line - certainly unusual.

Would I be right in imagining that trains this week will be diesel hauled? Any idea whether Lion will be out and about again? I had a wonderful day on Sunday. Thanks!

With any luck a message will appear on the MHR web site soon if they are going to continue running diesel locos.

Just to add this coming weekend is the Alton bus rally. Looking at the time table 205025 is also in service. Should be three train service?

Is all this the major progress the thread is supposed to be about?

I think you may be a tad optimistic if you expect a thread on this forum to stay on topic.

If anyone knows what's likely to be out and about over the next few days, I'd be grateful! Thanks.

Personally, haven't got a clue - last Saturday was supposed to be 925+31806, ended up 925 + 45379......................................... And now that 60163 is now stranded there, there is an outside chance that she may well run, considering that the A1 Trust has just lost a large chunk of money, both parties may just reach an agreement to she her running!

I've been on MHR today and its 30925 and 45379. E-mail from them yesterday said these two will be operating for the rest of August.

Stated on the MHR FB page, Tornado is booked only for the Autumn Gala....................................................... so very much doubt she'll run this weekend...... a shame really as I think both parties are missing a trick!!!
