    does anyone know why Bittern lost time on the run down? she was early all the way to Guildford, leaving just 1 min down, then lost time between there and Alton, managing to lose nearly 20 mins between Guildford and Bentley

    I would imagine that as its single line that she had to fit in around service trains.

    On another note Bittern is tucked up in the loop platform at Ropley with support coach (due to go back with the Brit post gala).

    no she lost time gradually from guildford to ash, (3mins) Aldershot (6mins) and Farnham (7mins) getting to bentley only 4 minutes before the next SWT Alton bound was due, according to real time i was wondering if she had steaming issues

    Steaming issues with just Light engine and support coach? They would have to be terminally severe issues for a light load like that. The network was getting busy, congestion and fitting it in would be favourite, plus I saw a team of P/Way gangers working on the points just west of Alton station.

    National Rail & SWT were tweeting about signalling problems between Farnham & Alton yesterday evening, delays of around 10 minutes - most likely cause?

    My Dad saw her go past in the twilight at the end of our road (on the section just after Aldershot station) and he said she was tender first, so she will be facing out of Alresford.

    But, if you are, make sure you are aware of your legal requirements, for instance:

    CAA permission is also required for all flights that are being conducted for aerial work (i.e. in very simple terms, you are getting paid for doing it).

    The aircraft must not be flown:
    • over or within 150 metres of any congested area
    • over or within 150 metres of an organised open-air assembly of more than 1,000 persons;
    • within 50 metres of any vessel, vehicle or structure which is not under the control of the person in charge of the aircraft
    • within 50 metres of any person except during take-off or landing, the aircraft must not be flown within 30 metres of any person except for the person in charge of the aircraft.
