How do you plan to fly a drone near the railway without personally trespassing on private property?

Is this the point where we remind everyone that the MHR line side is out of bounds and how the local farmers fields are not to be used for access to the railway perimeter (the local farmers deeming this as trespass).

Sorry come over sounding like a jobs worth, but unfortunately there was several incidents of line side trespass at the autumn gala. Unfortunately these resulted in delays, when trains had to stop, slow down or staff were sent to investigate.

No "Jobs Worth" Jeff as given you don't "do" toy Rly's, let alone travel on them, and I doubt you'd put your hand in your pocket to actually travel on them...... therefore you are a free loader looking to make money without participating to the gala - these things aint cheap!

If you want to play with your Xmas prezzie, do it your back garden, or apply for a CAA licence.........

At the end of the day, drones are banned from the line & its environs, so if you don't like it - tough!

One thought for you....... if you actually got involved in a heritage line, you'd understand just how much freeloaders like you are disliked, trying to make money without actually contributing anything towards what you want to film!

    And you're not?.....................

Are you actually telling me, you're going to pay to ride the trains?.......

Jeff, drone's aren't funny - they're banned from the environs of the line, as they are distraction to the crews, and you making idiotic comments aren't welcome, whether you are joking or not!

Can anyone remember the last time a Brit hauled a freight train?

I understand that the freight will run Alresford - Ropley- Alresford only, and more frequently during the day, as per an autumn gala a few years back when the USA tank and freight did the same, so the chances are that more locos will get to pull some wagons!

That would be brilliant. I love photographing the freight train at that distance signal just outside Ropley!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! :Nailbiting: My eyes!! No, not that terrible thing.
30075 brings back bad memories of a Steam Gala where a diesel had to be involved (Class 33 pushing 30075 around all day).

I would have thought running up to Medstead non stop through Ropley would make more sense, than just utilising the shuttle path.........

Nothing wrong with '75 at all. Give it to a crew that know how to handle her and she,ll be ok with that light load

The timetable is now online. Freight shuttles between Alresford and Ropley, as mentioned in an earlier post are running in the shuttle's paths.

I take the Black 5 instead as I haven't got a good photo of that with the freight yet. Fingers crossed for the Brit but knowing my luck she will be passenger service all day
