The MHR will be operating Santa Specials that day and although I cannot confirm the loco roster, I can advise that 92212 was running the Alresford to M4M section last weekend. I would expect 45379 to be on the Alton - Ropley section.
Timings have been: Alresford departures: 10:40, 12:15, 13:50 and 15:25 and
    Alton departures: 10:00, 11:35, 13:10 and 1445.
P.S. All tickets have been sold out for the 24th.

    Has something happened to 31806?

The MHR website says 92212 wasn't scheduled to operate until Spring with 45379 & 31806 operating over the winter.

I was wondering that too, last i heard 92212 was being put into winter store with a wooden cap on the chimney.

I think it's just down to loadings. The Santas have been load 6, so rather than have to use a diesel to assist in the event of bad weather, the 9F has been used.

I can't be 100% sure but I think 31806 is being used on the Home leave event. 92212 is being used on the Alresford service so they don't need to use the class 37.

It was a bit of a surprise to find 92212 at the head of our evening dining train last Saturday as I also thought she had been put into Winter storage. It was nice to listen to the 9f bark away at the front as we enjoyed the excellent food (best yet with a superb trifle!) and service.

MHR web site now confirms 45379 and 31806 are both being used over the Xmas period.

Is there any chance a "famous visitor" may work services in late January and February? I understand a recent visitor for the October Gala is returning at the weekend for some contract work at Ropley.

Thanks for that. B1 sent me some info about this move last night.
I am hoping she works some services over the MHR while it's a bit quieter as she has no other work lined up until March.

It would be interesting to see if the "Tornado Effect" bumps up the passenger numbers during the 'quieter' months - still we can only speculate as to whether she will work any service trains, suppose it rests on any agreement between both parties.
