Haven't got the link to hand but the timetable is already on the MHR website.

Going by what usually happens there should be two steam locos for the service trains and another for the freight.

I see that the loco roster on the website has been updated. 31806, 45379 and 34007 are rostered for the freight day on February 5th. 34007 for the freight? O yes please!!!

Attending the Eastleigh model railway event this weekend and talking to someone in the know. I'm led to believe 31806 is now working the Sunday freight train. According to my spy 31806 and 45379 are working the Saturday service trains and on Sunday 45379 and 34007 are both working the service trains. But this could always change.

The policy seems to be to put the u-boat on the lightest possible train - hence the last three weekends we've had the Black 5 starting from Alresford tnder first with a 5 coacher and 31806 first off from Alton on the 4 coach set. On the other hand, Wadebridge hasn't run for a while, so it might be prudent to pop her on the freight?

On this occassion, the timetable on the Watercressline.co.uk website is not quite correct. The latest version that I've seen looks like this:

    M4M 1033
    Alton 1054

    Alton 1113
    Alr 1144

    Alr 1208
    Alton 1254

    Alton 1314
    Alr 1346

    Alr 1410
    Alton 1455

    Alt 1512
    M4M 1526

I think the differences are because the goods set is stabled at Medstead at the moment. The timetable on the web is the one used when it's berthed at Alresford.

Roster on Mid Hants website shows the Black 5 on the freight. Unfortunately, looks llike there won't be much snow around tomorrow, much less sunshine!

Why would we want any snow for. That would only put off paying customers.

Well a bit on the fields would be nice, as long as the roads are clear! My son has just texted from Alton that there is too much snow for him to drive home! Started to lay here in Alresford, I've got to take my daughter to work tomorrow at 07:00 too, then some gardening for me. Hope to get s picture of Wadebridge tomorrow though

    Hi Steve,

It's the same in Winchester now but I'm led to believe the main roads are clear.

Oh dear, poor old Wadebridge! Not sure of all the details, but... She wasn't ready to come off shed at 10:00, so the 33 came up to Medstead, drew the trucks out of the down siding, then took them down to Alresford directly, picking up '007 at Ropley on the way. Wadebridge hauled the first "up" working unassisted, but with rather more steam issuing around the front end than I'd have thought normal. On the return trip, she shunted the wagons back into their siding at Medstead and returned light to Ropley, again with copious amounts of steam filling the low-pressure area behind the smokebox (running tender-first). Such a shame, because she did look rather good looming out of the murk with 14 or more trucks behind. Better luck next time!

The weather didn't seem to cause any problems, at least between Winchester and Four Marks. Even the back lanes were more-or-less clear. More of a risk was deep puddles from the melt-water.

I thought it was him up by the distant signal at Bowers grove when I was at Rookwood. I wasn't able to get up to Chawton Woods as I had lots of other things to do on Sunday!

Great pictures folks. Looks like 34007 needs a bit of attention though!
