Still outside Ropley shed today. There's an article in SR this month about 34051.

Re: double-headed Bulleids at the gala - personally, I'd be quite pleased if they face opposite ways and are diagrammed to pass chimney-to-chimney at different stations during the weekend. I have a shot, taken many years ago, of one of my colleagues handing over the token to Swanage at Medstead while Bodmin waits in the other platform. It would be nice to get something similar with Wadebridge and Braunton.

Yes it would be nice if one of the visitors was smoke box out of Alton rather than Alresford, a la the Spring gala, BUT the majority of visitors want to see guest engines facing out of Alresford, probably due to the fact that there are far more photo opportunities between Alresford and M4M than there are between Alton & M4M, (unless of course you are a working member and have full PTS! :)) and I have a sneaky feeling that the gala planners would wish to see 34046 & 34007 do some double heading together along with a lot of punters, and as 34007 is currently facing London then I would expect Braunton to do the same.....................

Still we shall see when she turns up..................... though I'm left wondering if Britannia is on course to make it as things have gone really quiet on that front and the end of October is a lot closer than you think!

Also looking forward to seeing the wagons being used and with any luck the cct's being used in the coaching stock.

Most likely the way she is now, to keep things "balanced" in terms of the number of engines facing in each direction, BUT I could be completely wrong as she may be due to be turned to keep the tyre wear even - we shall see once she returns...................................................

Reported in another thread that Britannia has left Crewe for Tyseley today, and will be going to Southall.

Can't be to long before a time table should appear on the web site for the gala.

They've replied to a couple of comments on their Facebook page with the following statement:

It is standard practice for us to release it a week before the gala. So times will be released shortly, as the working timetable is still being worked on.

Sounds like it won't be TOO long before the timetable appears - I'm waiting on the timetable so I can book my tickets!

A working timetable can't be to far off and I would think loco allocations would appear with the timetable nearer the time.
