Here is the only decent shot I got in Badshot Lea as the trio rolled down the hill from Aldershot. Had to adjust the exposure on my old mini-digital camera as it was so gloomy.

Does anyone from the Medstead wagon group know what wagons are out this weekend. I always look forward to seeing the wagons out over the gala.

    Cheers

I believe one rake is the vans, the other is a mixed freight.......................... but don't know what diagrams they are working, presumably varying each day and obviously different Loco's!! :)

I understand that throughout the 3 days of the gala the Information Office at Alresford Station will be holding a sale of Books and DVDs.
They will all be priced at £2 each or 3 for £5 so there are bound to be some real bargains. First come first served!

The website has been slow for me ever since they 'upgraded' it (15 seconds to load a single page!). The gala page is taking an age today though (60-75 seconds every time I load it)... perhaps it's the servers going into overdrive because people are continually checking back to see if the WTT has been uploaded yet?

Also bear in mind that SWT are running one of their "Rainbow Day" promotions from Alton on Saturday, so the ticket office and SWT trains are likely to be busier than you would normally expect.

It's been like that for some while (it was terrible last night and I gave up waiting) although when I just tried it it was relatively quick.
Still no loco allocations on the Gala timetable yet. Now visiting for two days (Friday & Saturday) as the ML charter I was booked on got cancelled last week.

Weather for the weekend doesn't look too special! Plenty of wet leaves around so 34007 better be careful (or run
double headed on all its rostered services!)

I am very surprised that we are still yet to see the loco allocations when the event is so near

Looking on the BBC weather web site Saturday looks to be the better of the three days. I don't think you can always go by the weather forecast. I think you are better off turning up and taking your chance with the weather.

I will be there Friday and Saturday, as you say the weather doesn't always listen to the forecasters. I am on horse duty on Sunday but might be able to pop over in the morning. Looking forward to seeing Braunton in particular, I do miss a rebuilt Bulleid on the line.

Just been look at the loco allocations. The 10.05 service off Alresford gets my vote with 34046 &34007 working together. Then following on from that 15.55 off Alresford with 34046 working on its own.
