Hardly surprising given that the copper top isn't facing the way they thought it would be............................ so a slight(?) re-jigging of the loco allocations.

There is indeed. It is quite a hike through the vegetation, but it is possible. Follow the path from Ropley and you reach the field after 2/3 minutes of walking.

Does anyone know if the Ex Kings Cross bridge will be open? I see they have now cleared the tree line from the bridge down to the picnic area.

It was closed off today, and it looked like they were still doing work on it at lunchtime.

Just seen the BBC weather for Friday and the weekend. Looks like its going to be cloudy most of the time. Lets hope they got it wrong again and the sun does come out at some point over the weekend.

I like the double headers, something different and I enjoy the sound of two exhausts while riding the trains!

Once on the area from the bridge to the picnic area is open to everyone there are a few more photo opportunities in the late afternoon. Should be a good place to take photos of locos coming back on shed at the end of a gala day.

Well the timetable has been revised but when you click on the link there is a major error:http://bit.ly/mhrGSSGtt2602

Edit: seems to be working now but the allocations are still the same.

The timetable has been updated - I downloaded it this morning and printed it off and it shows the direction of 5164 as "TBC". The. version currently on the website shows 5164's direction as "Country", but the allocations are still the same.

Revised Loco allocations dont work at the Alton end. All sorts of mysteries eg 850 arrives at 1539 on Saturday and then disappears. 925 arrives at 1539 on Friday not double headed and then works back on the 1535 leaving its train stranded ouside Alton. 30120 + 850 arrive at 1504 but 850 disappears again etc etc. Can we have a timetable with loco allocations that make sense please. I am trying to plan my haulage with some degree of certainty.

    Don

On some trains arriving at Alton, the loco detaches leaving the stock in the Meon siding, runs onto the stock in the platform and departs past the train it was heading, which is then pulled into the platform by the loco released by the departing train. Hence a loco can apparently leave Alton before it has arrived - as mentioned in the "Service Notes" on the timetable pdf
