Your post are getting silly. All the railways are finding it’s difficult and all railways are trying hard to open so we can go to galas this time but they are all going to make hard work of it as it is difficult. I remember you tied to tell me Norton manor wasn’t a loco your posts are really silly which is also what you said to me.

Can’t agree with that. There is no doubt in my view that the railway has its priorities wrong at the moment. They haven’t even sent proper tickets and haven’t responded to two of my emails. I have been a loyal supporter of the MHR to the extent of making a donation last year and also buying two tickets for a Gala but not travelling. Running a railway is hard but they have lost the plot this time and forgotten the first rule of business which is that the customer comes first

Let's see how it all works out this weekend before we are too judgemental. It does seem a bit disorganised though - I called someone at the railway this morning to ask if they are sending tickets out. "No idea - I'm just the information office" he said!!!

I suggested that I was asking for information - he told me 5542 had just arrived. "Don't you mean 5526?" I asked. "Don't know", he said "those GWR things are all the same aren't they?"

    Gave me a laugh anyway!

A post on Instagram saying 6435 has returned home, but a substitute pannier has been arranged.

Absolutely reinforces my points. How can a public facing organisation behave like this? Because they have lost the plot and have no idea how to deal with the public. They should be ashamed!

I agree with both of you. I love the Mid Hants a lot but it seems disorganised this time around. And with less than three days to go yet the Autumn Steam Gala already had this information weeks prior to the event. Looking forward to the weekend though

Norton Manor does not exist as a loco. It was Odney Manor with a replacement set of nameplates, so Big Al was correct.

I have now received a reply to my second email, so one plus point to them.

Another plus point is that the timetable now posted on Facebook and on here is colour coded so you can work out, if you don't know, how to select a seat on the train and then remain in that seat. For example, the red train will give you four different locos during the day without you having to change.

So in fairness for Mid Hants I read on the IG page of 6435 being loaded its in need of new boiler tubes. So I presume it's failed.

Sadly. Yes. Hence some of the behind the scenes fun of the last 10days, as both visitors have failed. The guys in Devon and in Cornwall are brilliant though, and here in Hampshire we care also, so between us all we are going manage to deliver what we said we would despite the problems. There will be a visiting pannier and prairie. The timetable many of you will understand, we needed to be certain of being able to deliver. This wasn't certain, AND we had all the issue I explained before.

Perhaps 6435 could be fixed by then?

With all due respect Don, the way you have written your posts over the last few days makes out you as though you will be the only passenger that is attending and no one else or nothing else matters!

As 21B has said, it seems as though the working members of the railway have been a tad busy trying to sort out failed loco's, arrange replacements, deliver what was promised and so forth but clearly as long as you get your info as soon as possible then hey ho, who cares!

The main question is, are you still going to attend this weekend to a railway that clearly has it's priorities wrong, not sent you proper tickets, only responded to one of the two emails you have sent & can't deal with the public, you are painting a very bright picture I have to say!

Thanks for that. Not too hard to work out what the replacement visitor is to be.
