Meat Van overhaul continues, with the new doors fitted on the south side.

The frames and below have all been top coated in Black too. Weather permitting, the first top coat will hopefully be applied in the coming weeks. Over the winter, the vacuum pipework and brackets will hopefully be made-up and fitted, before the cylinder is removed for overhaul.

It's wrong and out of date - 263 is running this week and into the weekend with either 65 or 847 also in service to operate the Bluebell services. I'm told that apparently 80151 is being picked up today or tomorrow

Meant to get a shot of today's Up Pines, but I think there was a Rain God riding in the train! The Ropley Spy managed to get a bit opf footage, but I can't upload it.

And impressive that for once people actually have seemed to keep out of the field as requested.

Had a 'fun' few days at the gala, apart from getting absolutely soaked twice in two days!!!

As @Hampshire Unit says, the rain this afternoon was Biblical & seemed to come out of nowhere........... and 10 minutes before & after the train, it was a nice sunny day!!!! :Arghh: :Arghh: :Arghh:

Still, the crews put on a good show as usual for those attending, and it was good to catch up with many faces I haven't seen for quite a while - Plus it was nice to catch up with 34092 after a very long time - a loco I grew up with on the KWVR!

Plus, I believe our Wagon Group sales stand in the GPV at Medstead did rather well, so a big thank you to those of you who came along and supported us in our efforts to keep on taming the troublesome trucks, aaaaand, I hope you liked what we've done with the GPV!!! :)

A few pics from the three days.......

    Friday.

My efforts from the Saturday of this years Autumn Gala, filmed in some very challenging weather conditions!
None the less, nice to see City of Wells for the first time and also see 80151 working hard boiler first as she normally faces the wrong way at the Bluebell for decent boiler first shots:

I assume both guest locos are returning to their respective home sheds this week? I wouldn’t want to miss the chance of another few rides behind either of them should they be out on the MHR this coming weekend!

80151 has to be back at the Bluebell soon as it is rostered for their Giants of Steam Gala this coming weekend. Not sure about 34092. It is required back at the ELR for their Steam Gala on the 15th October.
There appears to be an additional event happening at the MHR tomorrow and Thursday but train services are only operating between Alton and Ropley as Alresford is unavailable.

Thanks for this! MHR website doesn’t seem to have a loco roster feature, so will have to keep an eagle eye on t’internet just in case 34092 is out and about this weekend!

80151 now no longer is appearing at Bluebell. I expect it be staying at MHR a bit longer

30925 however is most definitely Bluebell bound!

Will the Bluebell need the standard tank back though as a standby locomotive for the event?
