5224 was heavy on water as it was coming to the end of its ticket. 5239 is in very good nick, water is available at Alresford too, although this is untreated. I think 5239 will be absolutely fine. It will be a good loco for the RAT services too.

Just been a mega shunt at Alresoford to reform Rat, Belle and Alresford set ready for the next couple of weeks. Now a dilemma, do I turn up for PW duty early on Saturday morning or do I stay in with my wife and mum to watch C111R get his new hat??

Does anyone know which loco's are rostered for this weekend? The roster page on the MHR website has not been updated since the middle of April.
I am visiting on Sunday to attend the Coronation event at Alresford and wondered if I might be able to get a trip behind 5239.
I wonder which loco will also be appearing as The Coronation train?

4079 was meant to depart on Tuesday. I'm not certain whether it was en route for the G&WSR or WSR.

    Cheers, Neil

It's arrived on the GWSR. The tender was still sitting in the car park at Alresford on Thursday morning mind!

I compromised, did track inspection this morning, now back at home with wife and assorted neighbours watching the coronation! Trains running with bunting etc but few passengers.

What was wrong with the 7F. Whatever it was the initial impression seemed to be that the problem was potentially terminal but clearly it wasn't as it reappeared for the gala.
