There is an interesting report in the latest issue of Steam Railway which hints that the Watercress Line are indeed planning a Merchant Navy Gala to gather together the four operational members of the class. With 35006 coming to the end of her ticket at the end of this year the Autumn Gala would provide the perfect opportunity to stage this gathering.....

This year will be the first time in preservation that four Merchant Navy Pacifics have been in ticket at the same time; 35005, 35006, 35018 & 35028. I wonder if they could meet up somewhere as part of the Railway 200 events (Watercress Line Autumn Gala perhaps?)

That incredible gathering was being rumoured at the Mid-Hants Spring Gala and I was trying so hard not to think to much about it in case it was just a rumour with no substance.

But it does seem to be gathering pace . . . .

And the Mid-Hants woud be an ideal place to stage it seeing that Basingstoke to Woking is unlikely to be made available for a MN bash before 35006 goes out of ticket . . . . .

I can't pick up likely dates in the Mid-Hants 2025 Calendar at present?
